Active Learning through Play

The mastery of PLAY is the most important developmental task for young children. It is the best way in which they create meaningful learning and make sense of the world in which they live. Through rich and meaningful play experiences children express wonder, curiosity, creativity, confidence, and knowledge. Play promotes language skills, cognition, and social competence. Children need to acquire both physical and logical knowledge to grow in competence; these important skills are learned through play. The educator’s task is to create a rich and inviting environment where children can use objects, materials, and props to construct their learning through play. Our play-based academic program emphasizes joyful learning, friendship, and character building through our Six Words of Servanthood: Courage, Humility, Respect, Integrity, Seeker of God, and Teachability. We also place an emphasis on the social-emotional development of children as these important skills set the foundation for meaningful learning.

Hands-On Learning

Our preschool program is designed for hands-on-learning including STEM (science, technology, engineering math). Art and music activities also help to develop fundamental learning skills required for Kindergarten readiness and to ensure a successful and happy transition to kindergarten.
